The Power of Graveskull isn't the only thing coming back. Early 2000s memes are here again, and maybe even some new ones. While the movie likes to poke fun at itself, there are some cool action scenes and laughable moments that may just keep you into the movie. While short lasted, theres enough to power you and your sword through the movie.
In MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, Director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this epic live-action adventure. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.
I was not the biggest fan of the cartoon growing up, but if this was on my TV as a kid, I would have enjoyed every episode. Bringing He Man into the modern day and giving him a job and modern society norms was a perfect idea. This way, every audience can relate to the character and enjoy the movie and the ideas it makes you believe.
Idris Elba and Jared Leto almost steal the entire show. Idris Elba knows how to bring a line to the audience and make them laugh and enjoy the action that is happening. As for Jared Leto, we have been laughing at his performances for so long, that when he tries to play Skeletor as lame and tries to be cool, we end up laughing more at the scene. Including some real cheesy one liners that we will be using for the rest of the year.
Nicholas Galitzine fits the build to play He Man. He also brings the character you are picturing as He Man to life. He can play the normal earth version and the version that lives on his planet. We will for sure be seeing more of him in future He Man movies, and I'm sure other movies all around.
Should you see this new version of He Man? Yes. Will you need the largest bucket of popcorn they sell? Also, yes! The cheese runs deep, so make aure you buckle up and get ready.
Make sure you stay until the very end. There is a mid and end credit scene you won't want to miss.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE experience the movie in Theaters on June 5th, 2026.
