Time for another Disney live action telling of a classic tale. While we have already had a few, SNOW WHITE is set as something the kids will really like, and the adults will just take it as it is. This doesn't mean it's bad, but it also doesn't mean it's good. For adults, this will sit you right in the middle, and you don't need to think any further.

From the producer and executive producer of “Wicked,” Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff, and director Marc Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) comes “Disney’s Snow White,” a live-action musical reimagining of the studio’s classic 1937 film. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) in the title role and Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) as her Stepmother, the Evil Queen.
The movie seems to take a minute, a long minute, to find its footing. It starts as a narrator telling a story to keep us up to the now, but then when we are caught up, the breaks are hit, and we move slowly and at an off-putting pace. While it does find it fitting later, and it seems to have a good role, it just seems like you're waiting and waiting for something to happen.

Rachel Zegler actually does an excellent job portraying Snow White. She brings the same type of attitude as the cartoon version, and she brings a voice that is pleasant to hear, as often as they make her sing.
Gal Gadot on the other hand, seems to be misplaced. While she's not on the screen too much, and I understand why, it just seems odd. While, yes, she is the villain in the movie, and I get we shouldn't like her, she just seems like she's trying too much when she sings, but then not enough at the same time.
The dwarfs steal the show once they are introduced. I'm going to call out Grumpy and Dopey as the two scene-stealers. They not only bring the needed comic relief, but they also bring that hidden adult humor that will make you chuckle while your kid can still enjoy the movie. They also help pick up the pace of the film and get you moving right up until the end of the final scene.
Will you say there's too much singing, sure. Most of the songs are catchy though and some may even make you laugh. Will you be bored at times, sure. But then there are times you'll be glad you're watching. This movie seems to be safe. It's good for kids, the movie isn't that bad, it's not that good. It just seems to be right at that middle mark where it's ok.
