In true Mission Impossible style, the action in the Final Reckoning takes the genre to another level. I found myself checking my breathing and heart rate as the intensity of the mission kept up an edge-of-your-seat plot. The unique locations elevate this feeling even more by providing beautifully crafted scenery along the operation. There is over explanation in several scenes that some viewers may find distracting, however, I do think it is good for those who are not familiar with the franchise or it has been a while since their last watch.
The cast is another component that makes MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING stand out. With a mix of returning members like Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, and Ving Rhames with new faces to the mission like Nick Offerman and Holt McCallany, there is lots of charismatic dialogue that took a journey through action, drama, comedy, and more within the 2 hours and 50-minute film. There are also several flashbacks of the nearly thirty years of Mission Impossible that feel like a warm hug.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the Mission Impossible movies, the Final Reckoning is an action lover’s dream. I highly recommend watching it in IMAX because it highlights how well-crafted the film is.
