Are you ready to go back to the pizza fun palace that is Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza? If you want to watch the first movie you can, although there is no real need to. This movie is not hard to pick up. While this movie is better than the first one, it still has issues that are seen very common with these types of films.
They’re not just at Freddy’s anymore. One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.
While the acting of each character just seems the same and flat, there is at least more character development from not only the real-life actors, but also from the robot characters themselves. While you maybe like me, want to explore more into the development, the film quickly turns back into a Blumhouse production where it focuses on the wrong things and just tries too hard to be a scary teen movie that's not really scary.
A quick runtime for these types of movies is always a good thing. However, at times you can just feel this movie moving too slowly. Oddly enough, when it starts to get interesting, and you are focusing on what is happening, the movie quickly sweeps through those scenes. So the movie does keep you interested enough so you're watching, it just doesn't have the pull to make this the banger movie it should be.
While there maybe appeal for you to go and see this movie, it maybe better suited to watching it on home streaming. The lore of the FNAF fans will eat this movie up and celebrate it completely, while the average movie goer may seem bored at times or lost in why you are still watching it. If I could guarantee you an audience of FNAF fans, I would demand you to see this in a full theater. Since that won't happen, save this one for home viewing.
There are some cool scenes that make this movie worth it. Nodes to different things inside and outside the game, so try to go with those gamer friends who may hype up the movie more so you're feeling better about seeing it while watching the movie.
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S 2 will open in theaters nationwide Friday, December 5th, 2025.
