San Diego Comic Con 2024. Comic con is back and feels bigger than ever! Offsites this year were so incredible as
they have been in many years past. Studios pulled out all of the stops to show us
upcoming features and bring exclusive footage. The exhibit hall had many photo ops
and fun activations. When I think of Comic-Con, this year perfectly sums up why it’s
such a wonderful experience.

Started off con at offsites, like always! Went straight to the Jack in the Box/Deadpool
Wolverine in Downtown, the food was themed (chimichangas of course), there were
freebies including the famous Jack antenna topped with a Deadpool facelift, so cute!

The Paramount Lodge returns! Paramount is back again (and so happy they did)
bringing a variety of activations. At Star Trek you could customize your own shirt, this
was one the coolest experiences, just so fun and absolutely loved they did this. Turtle
Power Pizza was tubular! Free pizza, cute photo ops - very on theme! There was a very
immersive experience for the show Ghosts, you go through an apothecary and at the
end they gave essential oils. I am a big Dexter fan and this was such a cool set up, love
seeing Dexter back at the con! Paramount Lodge was 10/10, so fun, immersive and
have nothing but respect to them for bringing one of the best offsites at Comic-Con.

A welcome surprise this year was the Shawn of the Dead offsite, celebrating 20 bloody years of the cult film. We entered the “Winchester Bar” where it was essentially an overlay from the film. There was also themed beer, a new Funko video game demo (very cool, I had a blast playing it!) and of course photo ops! I really had fun here and thought it was a great experience!

Peacock brought Those About to Die, a new show starting Anthony Hopkins which takes place during the Roman Empire. Everyone raced against each other in a coliseum and it was really fun. A little silly but had a blast!

Hulu came back this year bringing the fan favorite “Animayhem” this offsite is so fun, it’s family friendly, interactive and just a really good time! I feel like you can’t be mad or upset if you’re in here, you might be tired, have sore feet, whatever it is, you forget it all coming here, it’s just good vibes all around. From Family Guy celebrating 25 years, Simpsons providing donuts, and Solar Opposites giving a fun vending machine experience!

Moving onto panels, I was 5th row for Hall H and Marvel really brought the heat! They opened with a Deadpool choir singing Madonna’s Like a Prayer and had cosplayers dressed as different kinds of Deadpool, my favorite being the “Greatest Showman” Deadpool in honor of Hugh Jackman! We saw exclusive footage for Captain America: Brave New World and they brought out Harrison Ford! I haven’t seen him since the Force Awakens panel back in 2015! Thunderbolts cast made an appearance with David Harbor in full costume, now that was cool to witness! Next up was Fantastic Four and YES Pedro Pascal was there, he is a treasure and an icon. They had a floating car going through the exhibit hall, one of the coolest, most original things I’ve seen in a panel, very innovative (just like the movie seems to be)!

And last but definitely not least the Russo Brothers came out to talk for the first time ever, about Avengers Secret Wars and reveled Dr.Doom would be played by Robert Downey Jr. who then showed up also in costume to revel himself! It was just one of those unforgettable moments.
