Detroit Zoo brings you Wild Summer Nights and Zoomance.


Wild Summer Nights
The Detroit Zoo gets even wilder on Wednesday nights during July and August with its annual Wild Summer Nights concert series. Concerts take place in the Zoo’s Main Picnic Grove from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wild Summer Nights features a variety of live music from local bands, including children’s, jazz, pop, folk and blues. Concert-goers are invited to bring a blanket and enjoy the music. Food, snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks are available for purchase from Zoo concessions. Plus, the Zoo remains open until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays during the concert series.

Aug. 12 – The Verve Pipe (children’s)
Aug. 19 – Detroit Children’s Choir (Detroit Symphony Orchestra)
Aug. 26 – Candy Band (children’s)


Detroit Summer Zoomance
Adults are invited to rekindle their childhood love for the Detroit Zoo at Summer Zoomance. This is an adults-only event, featuring cash bars, complimentary tram tours, zookeeper talks, live music and rides on the Tauber Family Railroad (additional $3 per person). Guests can enjoy an adult beverage while strolling through the Zoo until twilight.
All guests must be 21 and older Photo ID is required for entrance
Tickets cost $14

The Zoo is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (April 1 - Labor Day)
The Zoo is open late Wednesdays for Wild Summer Nights in July and August until 8 p.m. with a special $6 admission ticket after 6 p.m.
