'The Night House' releases in theaters Friday, August 20th, 2021.

The way this movie sounds, it seems very bone chilling. The idea is there, and for most of the movie it is filled with bone chilling moments. However, by the end of the film you don't feel this way anymore.

Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep it together – but then nightmares come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house calling to her, beckoning her with a ghostly allure. Against the advice of her friends, she begins digging into her husband’s belongings, yearning for answers. What she finds are secrets both strange and disturbing – a mystery she’s determined to unravel.

Rebecca Hall for sure gives an amazing performance, and you feel every emotion she puts on screen. Anytime her character is lost, you seem lost and puzzled as well. It seems like you are trying to figure out what's going on, what's real and what's not. There are so many moving parts that you need to pay attention close so you understand what's going on.

The issue is the payoff at the end. Once we find out what's really going on, you won't be happy. It just seems like it could have ended a better way. It is a weird ending for sure, I guess it could make sense since the movie is a weird idea anyway.

So when you see you this movie, get ready to get the chills, but then don't be disappointed in the ending.
