'Mulan' is available on Disney+ Premier Access on September 4th, 2020.

Disney’s 'Mulan,' features a fearless young woman who risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known. When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

I feel like there will be two types of people that watch this film, those who never saw the cartoon and those that have. If you never watched the cartoon version, you will enjoy this movie and everything it has to offer. It will just be a normal movie for you that has some cool fight scenes and slow dialogue that will make the movie drag on a bit.

If, like me, you saw the cartoon, you will have a totally different experience, and that's not a good thing. The main problem isn't that this isn't a musical version, like the cartoon, it's that it teases you too much about it. You'll be watching the movie and then hear the beat to a song you remember in the cartoon. Just as you start to sing, the scene changes and the music is gone. It just seems odd, that yes it is not a musical, the movie decides to remind you that it was once a musical.

If you are going back and fourth on weather this movie is worth the up charge, my advice is to hold off and wait. While this movie is cool and has some scenes that are amazing, it is just not worth the value it is going for right now.
