Bohemian Rhapsody is in theaters on November 2nd, 2018.
Bohemian Rhapsody stars Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury, lead singer of the band Queen.
I knew nothing about the band or their lead singer. I went into this thinking it was a biography about Freddie’s life - but it was more than that. From the start of the band, how they met, composed songs, and became one of the greatest musical acts. I learned a lot and felt very invested in the story and the music. So much so that I listened to them on the way home from the theater! I definitely suggest seeing this in theaters because the performances are so immersive you just feel like you’re at a queen concert.
Rami did a phenomenal job playing Freddie Mercury. From his mannerisms to his personality - he was spot on. It’s no secret that he lived a very promiscuous life, from his addictions to his various partners, I thought it was represented appropriately. I really hope Rami gets nominated for an Oscar, he certainly deserves one for this film.
If you like movies that draw you in and don’t let go - this is a film for you.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.
