Review: The Fate of the Furious

Make sure you don't forget your popcorn, you'll need it.
The Fate of the Furious is something I already know you are going to watch. So when you go and see The Fate of the Furious, because we both already know you will see it no matter what, make sure you get a big bucket of popcorn. This movie is a popcorn flick for sure. Get that extra butter too.

The Fate of the Furious seems like it didn't know what it wanted to me. It seemed like it wanted to wrap up the entire series, but left it open for more in the future. I mean even the marketing for this movie was confused. The title is 'The Fate of the Furious' but the social media campaigns have all been #F8. Although it is the eighth film in the series, it needs to be clear on the title.

As usual the comic relief was from Roman (Tyrese Gibson). The only issue I had with him is it's the same comedy for every movie. He's always fighting over a girl, and he will never end up with the girl, or he picks the wrong car to drive on ice, or he gets too scared like a baby at the stunts they do. It's the same comedy from every movie before.

Weather you listen to me or not, you are going to see this movie. If you don't end up seeing it, everyone you know will tell you how awesome this movie is, and they are right. The movie has even better stunts then the last seven, and it just gets crazier and crazier on what they do.

3 out of 5

It was definitely a fast and furious film..With that comes certain expectations and they were all met..I will however note that this was the first film I predicted the ending well before the clear signs hinting at it were there. I'm not sure if it's because of the formula of the story..Because I have seen all of the films..Maybe something else. It didn't ruin the movie for me in any way but it points out things that might ruin for others. I was wrong about one thing but that is too spoilerish.

I haven't seen any of the other movies in this franchise. But this one was awesome lots of laughs, lots of wrecked cars , lots of high speed action , many twist and turns and some heart breaking moments also . loved this movie . now time to go binge watch the previous movies associated with F8.

It was as good as the others but some of the action was blurry in the jail scene. It wouldn't prevent me from seeing it again.

Saw the screening Tuesday for this one, and loved everything about it. Charlize Theron is such a good villain. The action did not stop one bit to keep you at the edge of your seat. Tyrese Gibson made you laugh the entire movie. Overall great movie, and for me the best one in the franchise.

I liked this one a lot, though I agree they follow a formula for sure.

Has cool effects and is interesting to watch though the effects seem to be getting a tad stale with each installment.

My Thoughts: Unabashedly mindless action with cornball dialogue to boot .... yeah,
that was a fun movie! And it actually had an above average story, which
made the theater experience all the better. :)

Just saw it last night. After having a marathon the past few days with all the others, this totally stands up with the rest. Of course it's kind of funny watching this series change from street racing to huge heist movies, to now it's almost Looney Tunes at certain parts, it is still absolutely enjoyable. Great time at the movies for me! Must see in theaters!

Excellent cinematography. Stellar chase scenes. They used fabulous POV's to draw one into position where the action was. They used the proper techniques to achieve the best focus. Choice of camera, film, lighting, speed were all considered. Glad to see restraint using panning - thank you. Charlizes' acting style didn't really fit the style of the rest of the cast. Her part was monotone though. In the group overall didn't feel the love. Hated to see the mother die - she was good. Vin was too. Helen Mirren looked the coolest she ever did, right? Car scenes were fun. The fight scenes were too rapid to watch therefore too long and we lost interest. Although editing kept the rest of the movie moving well.

What is so confusing about the hashtag? #F8 reads as "Fate" and it is the eighth film of the franchise.
