When you first hear 'Cocaine Bear' you can think of a lot of things. You are just hoping they don't over think it. That they don't override what can be a simple plot, with a great idea, and make mistakes. Well, I'm here to tell you not to worry. This movie goes just as you want it to go. Not to go too much and make you think. It's the movie you want from the title you got.
Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner's plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500- pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow … and blood.
The casting for this movie is spot on. It's silly. The wig on Jesse Tyler Ferguson doesn't make sense. Margo Martindale doesn't seem like the person you'd see as a park ranger. Actually, the only one that makes sense is Ray Liotta, since he's played gangsters before, a drug dealer makes sense. With that being said, it doesn't matter. They are all perfect and funny in all the roles they have.
Of course, the real star is The Bear. The only thing you want is more screen time with The Bear. Every time you see The Bear, you're either going to laugh non stop, get tensed up due to the thriller aspect, or be grossed out by all the gore and attacks. This all works perfectly for what you want from a movie called 'Cocaine Bear.'
Get ready for a wild time. 'Cocaine Bear' is the movie you want it to be. No need to think too much, just go, have fun. Enjoy the moments of the movie. Don't think too much. Just go in with an open mind, ready to laugh, and get that large popcorn.
Make sure you stay during the credits for some funny silly added on scenes.
