Here comes the show down you didn't ask for, but you are going to be dying to watch. Idris Elba versus a lion, who's going to win, who's going to die. You won't know until you watch this film. Because in the world of this movie, there is no logic, so anyone can win!

Elba plays Dr. Nate Daniels, a recently widowed husband who returns to South Africa, where he first met his wife, on a long-planned trip with their daughters to a game reserve managed by Martin Battles (Sharlto Copley, Russian Doll series, Maleficent), an old family friend and wildlife biologist. But what begins as a journey of healing jolts into a fearsome fight for survival when a lion, a survivor of blood-thirsty poachers who now sees all humans as the enemy, begins stalking them.

The movie does start a bit slow during the beginning, but with a run time of just a little over ninety minutes, the slowness quickly speeds up. Once we see what the issue is going on, the whole family and a friend are then thrown into excitement while they all have to fight for their lives.

Do not watch this movie for the acting. As the acting of most of the characters is sup par to say the least. You are only here to watch Elba fight a lion in the African desert. While some acting can be saved from Elba himself, the other characters just seem to get in the way of the fight we wait for the whole movie to watch.

While this movie has no logic in it, it is sad to say they add logic to the big fight scene of the movie. Not to spoil anything, but they make it seem as if this is a fight that could really happen, and the outcome would be the same. I'm not sure why they made the fight scene with Elba and the lion seem like what could really happen, but I guess that's a good thing, so no one can complain that it couldn't happen.

Enjoy this movie for what it is! Grab the largest popcorn, all the butter and salt you can take. Sit back and relax. Watch this movie on edge to see what happens to this family and the lion that is hunting them down!

'Beast' is in Theaters on August 19th, 2022.
