'The Suicide Squad' opens Friday, August 6th, 2021 in theaters and HBO Max.

I have for a long time now loathed the movies DC has put out in recent years, with very few exceptions. After the disaster of a movie that happened in 2016, I was cautious of this new and supposedly improved Suicide Squad. Immediately out of the gate I could tell this movie was going to be different than before, and man was I right.

James Gunn takes an ordinarily rag tag group of individuals and molds them into a perfect team of hilarious mayhem. The pacing was great, the banter and team dynamics were lively, and everything else seemed so flawlessly cohesive. I have no other words to describe how much I truly enjoyed this movie. At no point during The Suicide Squad did I feel like this movie was dragging on. I would honestly rank this in one of my top spots for superhero movie and easily recommend this to watch on a big screen.

Set aside any negative expectations you may have before going in because this is on a whole other level than what we’ve seen DC put out before. Whether or not they take all the other positive things I’ve seen into consideration when planning their next move, we will have to wait and see.

Be sure to stay until all the credits have rolled for a end credit scene!
