Birds of Prey )and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is in theaters on February 7th, 2020.

Margo Robbie returns as Harley Quinn, fresh off a breakup from the joker - she’s learning how to live her best life and dodge people who are out to get her! Harley makes some new friends, Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) Huntress, (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) and try’s to escape the grip of Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).

There’s nobody on the planet who could play Harley Quinn better than Margot. She IS the perfect depiction of the comic book character we’ve all come to love. Her expressions, voice, mannerisms - everything about is her perfect. Also - her pet Bruce is just adorable!

I really liked Huntress, and could relate to her the most - I mean, she’s every awkward girl who’s struggled to bond with other females. Black Canary was great and I really enjoyed the time they spent with her character development. All of the characters in this movie were awesome and I’m really impressed they managed to get all of them together for the first time and have it work. If you’re concerned this will be like Suicide Squad - this was way more thought out, the script and story all flow really well.

One thing I was very surprised by and really liked was the action! This movie has tons of it and the fighting scenes are some of the best I’ve seen. It was awesome to see women be strong and not have some kind of excuse or reason why they can defend themselves. They are just strong and fight and I loved it.

This is kind of like a female version of Deadpool that you could maybe bring your kids to? It is Rated R but I didn’t think it was too bad, a lot of violence but all comic book movies have that. There was a little girl leaving the theater that said “this was the best movie ever!” It’s definitely one of the best superhero films I’ve seen. I’ll leave it up to you if you want to take your kids.

DC has been putting out hit after hit, I can’t wait to see more Birds of Prey films! There are so many characters and stories to work with (Zatanna anyone?!). This can be a great franchise - Fingers crossed for more!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5
