The Lion King is in theaters on July 19th, 2019.

The Lion King is the photo real remake of the 1994 version of the same title. A young cub named Simba is born into royalty and wants to be as brave as his father, Mufasa, who is the king of Pride Rock. Mufasa’s brother has alternate plans as he also yearns for the throne. Can this remake live up to the eminence of the original?

Disney had some big paws to fill by announcing the Lion King using a photo real technique. In their high quality fashion, they achieved that and more. After watching the initial scene it was easy to tell how much work and dedication was put into creating this version. Hearing the Circle of Life while watching animals that looked so lifelike was beautiful and comforting because it resembled the original scene for scene.

At first it was difficult to accept the animals coming to life as they did from being animated to their photo real selves. It made it feel like I was watching a Disney Nature film with voice overs. Quickly this feeling went away because of how the cast transformed the story into something new and fresh while still sticking to the original.

Between the cast, the music and the visuals the Lion King became a sight to see that had viewers once again immersed in the story. There was laughter, tears and even people singing along which made it a movie that felt like the audience could participate which made it even more enjoyable. There were even some scenes that were not in the original that were great choices on being added which amplified how unique the Lion King is.

For fans of the original, the Lion King is well worth the remake and holds the talent to be watched multiple times. The detail that went into selecting the cast, the soundtrack used in the film and the intricate visuals were mesmerizing. You may already know the story but I suggest you see the Lion King as soon as possible!
