Captain Marvel is in theaters on March 8th, 2019.
Okay, I’m going to keep my review short and spoiler free - if you’re seeing Captain Marvel...you already
know what it’s about! Brie Larson takes on the role of Captain Marvel, the most powerful superhero in
the MCU. Joining her adventure are OG Marvel actors Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg as younger
versions of Nick Fury and Agent Coulson back in the 90's. *Cue the amazing movie soundtrack*
So far, I’ve seen mixed reviews both good and bad (surprise - majority of the bad reviews are from men) and I have to say I don’t see any of their issues with this film. I LOVED it! I think anyone going in
expecting Infinity War-level action will surely be disappointed - because that’s not what this film is
about. This was an origin story that gave us true background to Captain Marvel. We already know that
she’s the most powerful Marvel superhero but now we know what makes her human and WHY.
Brie Larson kicked ASS and proved why she’s going to be the reckoning Thanos isn’t ready for. What I
also thought was really cool was that this is as much an Avengers/Marvel origin story as it is Carol
Danvers and Captain Marvel. Seeing Nick Fury and Agent Coulson pre-Avengers and watching events
unfold that you know set the entire Marvel universe into action was AWESOME. It honestly made me
want to go home and re-watch every Marvel movie in anticipation of Endgame! (an impossible task I
know)
I highly recommend getting out and seeing Captain Marvel ASAP - and make sure you stay TIL THE VERY
END!
