Review: Office Christmas Party

Will you be laughing in Office Christmas Party or not?
When you see the names Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, T.J. Miller and Kate McKinnon on the movie poster, you're aspecting the movie to be off the chain funny. The issue is that when we aspect the movie to be 'off the chain' funny, that we raise the movie to a higher standard. This movie was funny for sure, but because of the cast and the expectations I wanted the movie to be even funnier.

Kate McKinnon's character was the funniest character in the movie, now maybe that was because it seemed like she was playing a funny character from Saturday Night Live, or maybe (if you don't watch SNL and see her preform) it was because we don't expect her to be the funniest person on that script.

Jennifer Aniston and T.J. Miller as siblings was one of the funnier things in the movie. The things Jennifer Aniston did to T.J. Miller was so unexpected that you get caught up into it and find it funny.

The issue here was we didn't see the actual Office Party that much. Once the main character (TJ Miller) got sad, the movie quickly shifted to focus on him, and the party was left for us to be unwatching it. Yes, unwatching it. We probably missed the funnier party's of the party. Maybe this was on purpose, so you want to buy the bluray to see all the extras at the party so you can see what was missed.

All in all this movie was funny. I did find myself laughing at most of the parts. If youare willing to laugh at anything, you will like this movie then. Maybe just lower you expectations, then you will be willing to laugh at everything this movie has to offer.

Stay through the credits for some b-roll footage.

OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY
is an adult Christmas comedy with some hits and some misses. All performances are good. Be ready for anything (but nothing brand new).

I liked the movie but it seemed disjointed. It didn't flow like I thought I should have. I wanted more laughs and found some parts forced. This is a DVD rental in my book.
