Review: Almost Christmas

Almost Christmas is the right holiday movie for Thanksgiving.

If you have been wondering where Danny Glover, Mo'Nique, Omar Epps, and J.B. Smoove have been up to, you might want to go catch Almost Christmas. If you're like the rest of the world, you won't look any further then the internet. These actors have decided to do this movie and if you decide to see this movie, maybe you'll be happy.

You might have seen a trailer for the new movie Almost Christmas and thought to yourself 'Ok, when is Tyler Perry's name going to appear.' In this case you will be wrong. Tyler Perry has nothing to do with this film. It's even a different studio (Universal) then Tyler Perry uses.

Actually thinking about it, Tyler Perry should have been in this movie. I went in thinking this movie will be funnier then I thought it turned out to be. Tyler Perry could have brought in some laughs from Uncle Joe or somebody. I'd even take Tyler Perry in his dress to bring the funny back to this movie.

An issue this movie faced was it had too many character plots. With this being about a big family, they each had there own story line. This just added too much drama into the movie times 4 children time 2 spouses times 2 friends.

Almost Christmas is a movie that you may want to watch with your family. It has a good family story along with the movie.

3 out of 5

ALMOST CHRISTMAS
is a holiday dramedy about a recently widowed man and his four children with their families plus the mother's sister (who never married) who spend 5 days together. It is episodic and predictable. Not for pre-teens.
