The Menu follows a couple as they travel to an island to experience an exclusive restaurant. Throughout the dinner event, the chef and his staff reveal surprises to meet the dining guests’ tastes. Can the Menu serve a palatable film?

The mysterious nature of the Menu immediately captures attention from the beginning. As the guests arrive to embark on the island for dinner, they are given appetizers while the audience receives an equal amount of backstory information. The plot continues to deliver small “bites” of information that helps to place each element together in a cohesive way.

The balanced nature of the Menu is another attention-grabbing portion that sets the movie apart. The Menu is shot in a close, intimate way that gives an uncomfortable feeling of being in the chaotic, balance of dark comedy and suspense. Each scene gives an unexpected yet fitting flavor that makes you crave more while wanting to turn away from the next scene.

The Menu provides a movie that is a well-balanced satirical thriller that can be watched again and again. It is rare to see a movie focused on a restaurant also focus equally as well on its characters and the plot. In the end, the audience is bound to invite others to enjoy the Menu as they did.

'The Menu' is in Theaters December 16th, 2022.
