'The Vast of Night' premieres on Amazon Prime on May 29th, 2020.

If you watched the trailer for this one, it may catch your interest, I know it did mine. It looks like an awesome midnight thriller. It seems interesting, and has an interesting mystery, that hooks you in and makes you want to know more and what is happening. Well, sadly, the trailer is the only thing that makes this movie interesting.

This movie falls in the case of too slow to develop. The steam on this movie starts quick in the beginning, and it peaks interest, but then quickly slows down with too much dialogue and thinking involved for a perfect midnight thriller.

While the movie tries to be an extension of The Twilight Zone, it ends up hurting it more than helping it. It is not a good idea for a movie to try to compare itself to a series that is known for interest, but The Twilight Zone has something this movie doesn't, a shorter runtime.

If this movie had a short runtime, or a series of episodes feel, it may have worked out better, it just gets too long winded, and doesn't move in the direction, or speed you need. It needs to cut down and focus on the thriller aspect, but it fails and leaves you wanting more. The focus gets shifted around too much, and it makes you lose interest and focus on too many points at once.

If you are looking to watch a movie outside late at night this weekend, this might be your movie to watch. I would suggest watching it in a group setting, so you can chat back and fourth how the movie goes. You'll be able to make comments during the movie that will be more interesting that the movie itself.
