'The Lovebirds' is on Netflix on May 22nd, 2020.

If you are ready to have a good laugh at home, this movie is something you will want to see. It brings laughs, chemistry, and just down right some feel good moments that you don't want to miss out on.

A couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they are unintentionally embroiled in a murder mystery. As their journey to clear their names takes them from one extreme and hilarious circumstance to the next, they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.

Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani is what makes this movie work. They are a funny believable couple, and they just have awesome chemistry that works well on screen. The way they are able to roll off on each other just makes the movie work, and it will make you laugh. Some of the jokes did feel a little repeated with Kumail, but Issa was able to bounce back and bring it home.

I feel like while this movie seemed all over, it does try to tackle important issues like with race and police. While this is not a focal point in the movie, it is good to mention it. This is what helped made the couple seem real, and gave them more depth for being in a relationship.

If you already have Netflix, or are using someone else's account, go ahead and watch this movie. It will be talked about and you don't want to be left out. When you do watch it, leave a comment on your thoughts on the movie.
