Storm Boy is in select theaters on April 5th, 2019.

Storm Boy is about a retired businessman and grandfather, Michael Kingley and he starts to see images from his past that he can't explain. This forces him to remember his long-forgotten childhood, growing up on an isolated coastline with his father. He recounts to his grand-daughter the story of how, as a boy, he rescued and raised an extraordinary orphaned pelican, Mr Percival. Their remarkable adventures and very special bond has a profound effect on all their lives.

Storm Boy likes to flash back and fourth in time. Sometimes we follow Michael as an older man, and then it switches back to his as a child. You need to make sure you pay attention, so you can stay with what is moving on screen from scene to scene.

So of course watching a young boy want to save baby pelicans is adorable, even when he's told they will die in his care. This movie pulled on your emotions to make you feel for the boy. The young boy played by Finn Little is an amazing actor and has some talent. He keeps the movie moving and holds the audience's attention, as much as he can for his age.

I think you should try to wait to see this one when it goes onto the cable channels. While it is something to watch, it just doesn't pack enough interest to keep the audience invested in each character. However you do care for the pelicans more than anyone else in the movie.
