Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is in theaters on November 16th, 2018.

One of J.K. Rowling’s mind creation has come to theaters once again called Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald. After waiting two years since the first one for this highly anticipated movie it has finally arrived. Can the second installment keep the momentum for the series or has it fizzled out of magic?

I’m going to start off saying that this movie is targeted to the serious fans of fantastic beasts/J.K. Rowling’s writings especially Harry Potter. There were a lot of details and references straight from her books that would easily go over a viewer’s head if they are not familiar with the storyline. Unlike the first movie that gives you a more shallow, introductory look into the world of fantastic beasts, this one goes for the plunge and will those not familiar with it confused.

That being said if you are indeed a fan then the movie is great to watch. The visuals are amazing as has been set already from the previous movie and has only gotten better. The plot does get a little slow in the middle but this is because of the set up for the next three movies that are planned. The action scenes make up for it however and there are plenty of them to draw your focus back in.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a great movie to watch if you a fan who knows at the basics of the first one and character knowledge from Harry Potter. If not I would watch (or read) to get a refresher on things that might leave you wondering what just happened.

Rating: 3 out of 5
