Incredibles 2 is in theaters on June 15th, 2018.

The Incredibles released in 2004, and I was a 9-year-old boy watching a movie that I felt was made for me. Still to this day I think the original Incredibles is a 5 out of 5, and somehow after 14 years of waiting, Pixar has given us a sequel that is worth the wait!

Incredibles 2 begins directly after the original. We are immediately thrown back into the world of Supers as the Parr family is leaving Dash’s track meet. This alone is the perfect scene to tell you what to expect throughout the movie. You will get fun action and characters with super powers, but while the fight is going on, they’re arguing over who is taking care of the baby, Jack-Jack.

What makes these movies so great is the family dynamic, and it is done perfectly in this film. You see parents trying to figure out what is best for their kids in terms of illegally doing super hero missions, while one kid needs help with math homework and the other is nervous about an upcoming date. Oh, and don’t forget about a baby that seems to have unlimited powers running amok through the house. The back and forth between the family is real and makes this gigantic fictional world seem relatable.

The story of this film has great meaning in today’s times. It is basically about the movement of making Supers legal again, because they never should’ve been forced into hiding in the first place. You meet new heroes with unique powers along the way, but none of them are more important than our core family, along with Frozone and Edna Mode.

I absolutely loved this movie and cannot wait to see it again. It’s full of laughs, suspense, and just an overall sense of satisfaction because we finally got the sequel that many have wanted for years, and it actually lives up to the original. So, do you, your families, and your friends a favor and head out to the theater as soon as you can, because Incredibles 2 is an enjoyable experience for EVERYONE!

Rating: 4.9 out of 5
